Top 10 Anticipated Movies of 2020:

Almost half of the year is gone but the pandemic is not gone. Many movies like The Fast and the Furious 9 and No Time to Die release date has already been postponed. 

But still the year is not over and there are movies that will be released. In this article, I am going to write about the top 10 most anticipated movies of the year 2020.

I would try to include those 10 movies which will either go big on the box office or will go big on the award shows.So, let's get started:

10. The Old Guard:

The Old Guard is an Action film to be released on July 10 in Netflix. the movie is about a group of superheroes who have to defend their secrets and freedom. 

Cast: Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Luca Marinelli.

Director: Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Release date: 10 July, 2020.

9. Wonder Woman 1984:

Wonder Woman 1984 is another Superhero film based on the comic book character and is the second part of the Wonder Woman franchise.

Cast: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal.

Director: Patty Jenkins.

Release date: 12 August, 2020.

8. Top Gun Maverick:

Tom Cruise is back with the second installment of Top Gun after 34 years. This movie has  a lot of buzz and this movie is expected to do good business in the box office.

Cast: Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connely, Miles Teller.

Director: Joseph  Kosinki.

Release date: 23 December, 2020.

7. A Quiet Place Part 2:

A Quiet place part 2 is a sequel of A Quiet Place(2018). The first part was critically acclaimed and there are high expectations from the second part.

Cast: John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Noah Jupe.

Director: John Krasinski.

Release date: 4 September, 2020

6. Godzilla vs Kong:

Godzilla vs Kong is a fantasy film that mainly focuses on a battle between between these two monsters. The buzz of this movie is awesome and we can't wait to check it out . 

Cast: Millie Bobby Brown, Eiza González, Alexander Skarsgard, Julian Dennison.

Release date: 19 November, 2020.

5. Dune:

Dune is an upcoming science fiction movie based upon the 1965 epic novel of the same name by Frank Herbert and a remake of the 1984 film of the same name.

Cast: Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebeca Fegurson, Oscar Issac. 

Director: Denis Villeneuve.

Release date: 18 December, 2020.

4. No Time to Die:

No Time to Die is the 25th film of the James Bond franchise and its trailer was also a hit. The release date has already been postponed due to Covid 19 pandemic but the second release date is of this year only.

Cast: Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Ana de Armas, Rami Malek.

Director: Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Release date: 11 December, 2020.

3. The French Dispatch:

The French Dispatch is an upcoming comedy drama film which is anticipated to be one of the best movies of this year. Due to its strong cast and one of the best young talents we cannot wait to watch this movie.

Cast:  Timothée Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Bill Murray.

Director: Wes Anderson.

Release date: 16 October, 2020.

2. TENET:

TENET is an upcoming spy film with a touch of science fiction or in simple  words it's like James Bond meeting Inception. It's complicated like all Christopher Nolan's movies. We all know that Christopher Nolan has made some of the best movies and we all hope that TENET would stand up to our expectations.

Cast: John David Washington, Robert Pattison, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Debicki.

Director: Christopher Nolan.

Release date: 17 July, 2020.

1. West Side Story:

West Side Story is an upcoming romantic musical drama film and is a remake of 1961 movie of the same name. The movies are adapted from a 1957 musical Broadway. The 1961 movie went big on the award shows and grabbed 10 Oscars and 3 Golden Globes. So there are high expectations from this movie and from Steven Spielberg also.

Cast: Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Maddie Ziegler,Rita Moreno.

Director: Steven Spielberg.

Release date: 18 December, 2020.
